Windows 10: How to replace digital OEM License with digital Retail License No Product Key

Hi Everyone,I upgraded my desktop, mainboard + cpu + NVMe. I wished to keep NVME but it was not detected on new mobo, I had to change it too. It was bad memory with Manufacturer. I found that new NVMe has OS pre-installed with OEM lic somehow, but I want to transfer my Retail lic from old desktop to this new desktop. Could you advise how? I can see both of them in "Devices" under my MS Account.To clarify, in case we can not replace OEM lic by Retail lic :1. If someone use my old desktop, would they have my digital Retail License available on it? As I understand activation store on mainboard. 2

Digital license key

What do you mean by digital license "key"? I've heard of a digital license for Windows 10, and I've heard of a Product Key for Windows 10, but I've never heard of a digital license key.

Ditto to what they said. With Windows 10 OEM and Retail both activate with a Digital License. And both will get the Generic Digital license product code once activated with the digital license. The installed apps etc will depend on whether its Home, Pro etc, not whether its Retail or OEM.
The only real difference is you can't transfer the OEM to another PC. The Retail License can be moved to another device.

If said device already has a DL for the edition you want to use, Home or Pro etc, there is no real advantage to entering your retail key? It won't change anything.

One annoying thing, for me anyway, is if that device has an OEM embedder key for Home, and you want Pro, you have to do a change product key to get Pro. Even if it already has a DL for Pro. Or modify your install media to force a pro install.

This is where I am lost.

I activated a retail license on my win 10 pro PC

I then purchased an OEM key, entered it (replacing retail key)

It says activated but NOT digital license.

If I replaced a licensed win 10 with another licensed win 10, why no digital license?
