I use two personal computers. The old one runs on Windows 8.1, and the new one runs on Windows 11. I also have a Microsoft account. My question is about my old 8.1 computer. I would like to return my old profile picture that was accidentally deleted, but am unable to do so even though I've gone through all the required steps. Please furnish detailed instructions on how to replace my profile picture on my old Windows 8.1 pc. Thank you.

To better understand the query, please answer the following questions:

1. When you go to settings > Accounts, does all the three pictures appear as the screenshot above?

2. Are those pictures previously used account pictures?

I suggest you to try deleting the old account pictures by following the steps below and check again.

1. Press Windows key + R to open the run command.

2. Copy and paste the following command and press enter:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures

3. If the old account pictures are listed, delete it and restart the computer

• Select the Start button.
• Copy and paste the path below and then press Enter.
  • %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures
• Delete the unwanted profile picture.
