Nope but the default built-in telnet is insecure anyways and besides, these are protocols on the TCP/IP stack used in all modern OSes came from BSD4.4 anyways. I had always used SecureCRT for that purpose including having access to Usenet newsgroups when I had the nntp port redirect.

Anyways, here's the answer to the default tiles created on the 2 newly created accounts, both administrator, one is a local and the other is a Microsoft account which seems to be way different than the one created on my account and ofcourse as I stated earlier, it includes tiles for things that are not installed (Twitter, Candy Crush Saga, I<3Radio, Flipboard, Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta), just wished I knew how they created the links and how Windows actually generates the default start menu tiles as maybe the original primary user with administrator is treated differently than additional accounts on the system:

I believe they are(oh how can I explain this)... They used to be blank extra store and Xbox icons that said coming soon or something like that, during the late stages of preview, I suspect they are just ads. If you unpin them and then look in all apps you shouldn't find them(the uninstalled ones) their.

Yes, that's what I mean. The ones I mentioned are not installed at all. It's probably just ad revenue for Microsoft. I figured it can't be the original as according to Press Releases, IheartRadio was not even available until August 29, 2015:
iHeartRadio launches Universal Windows 10 app

Found this and it talks about the advertisements and the tiles:

The Start Menu Should Be Sacred (But Its Still a Disaster in Windows 10)

I didn't try creating additional accounts until September 12, 2015.

Oh, I forgot to mention that before the in-place install, I managed to get the disable Autoprotect in Norton 360 to be selectable instead of greyed out.

The other thing ofcourse is this last reinstall fixed everything which was either a result of me deleting the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder so it would create it again as before, when I created new accounts, none of the store apps including store apps would work but now it works fine... Obviously, the default tiles was fixed when I used another administrator account to install windows after basically making the folder with the database for my account non-existent. Just plain weird it would install different start menu tiles for the original account (maybe because it's the Home Edition?) versus newly created accounts. Makes you wonder why they didn't do the ads on the primary accounts menu tiles. In any case, it seems like the reinstall also did not install Twitter or Candy Crush Saga as it did on the original upgrade from Windows 7 as I don't remember installing it and I couldn't have clicked on a tile to install it either as my start menu default tiles don't even have links to those two.

One of these days, I'll uninstall Norton 360 and try Windows Defender. I remember on my XP machines, I got infected with Win32/tenga which basically attacks all .exe files except it killed Norton SystemWorks as well. Replaced it with NOD32 and scanned the drive as well as used other scanners after replacing all .exe's with good copies from another computer but every once in awhile, the virus would attack again. All AV's have found the system to be clean before the attacks so never knew where the virus was hiding exactly.

    Hi,

Those two apps only came default with the latest Eval version (10565) of Win 10 IIRC. Maybe one of the latest updates of version 10240 as well, not sure, it's been a while since I restored that image.

    Cheers, *Wink

Interesting. I thought they would have pushed installing Skype instead but maybe this way, they can't get sued for including their own product. *Wink Is there anyway to tell by looking at the ISO image? Now that you mentioned it, the original Windows 10 upgrade was done using the Win10 upgrade app on August 11, 2015 and not from the 10240 RTM ISO downloaded on September 12, 2015 downloaded ISO which ofcourse makes me wonder if the ISO image ever got updated since that date as it would sure make it easier on update bandwidth for them even though Microsoft owns their own backbone. *Wink

Oh they've been pushing Skype since Windows 7*chuckle. I even installed it but never used it on 7 and 8.1. I just started using on 10 because Kari has arranged online meetings(one for the video geeks, and one open for all, and I find it nice to communicate with fellow forum members, showing stuff, and learning from the others, when seeing their desktops live.

I just mounted the ISO and could not find anything to do with Apps or App Store. It must be either in a manifest or dll buried. Could also be there are basic ones from the get go, and what has been updated/added is done automatically when connected(remember "let windows check for updates").

It was actually after Windows 7 that Microsoft bought Skype as I installed mines manually and then ofcourse Microsoft/Windows Live Messenger got merged into Skype in 2013 or so.

Atleast Microsoft didn't put in a start menu that can be remotely updated by them so you see new ads periodically! *Wink
