Windows 10: How to resolve multiple AppData Apps Folders

A recent Windows update appears to have messed something up with the one-click-installer registries. It looks like the issue is now fixed but now I have multiple folders in the AppData>Local>Apps>2.0 folder around four of them because a program kept having to reinstall itself multiple times.In this case, is there a way to amalgamate/delete these extraneous folders? Or should they be left alone?

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Write in the search box the following: “%appdata%” .
• After the search is finished left click or tap on the folder that the search feature found.
• If it takes you to the following path: “C:\Users\The user that you are logged in with\AppData\Roaming”.
• It means that your folders are still there but they are hidden.
• Click on “View”.
• Check the box “Hidden items”

deleted AppData Account Picture file

I suggest you to perform System Restore on your computer and check if you are able to get back the AppData folder.



System Restore brings a system to an operable condition after a disaster so that it can again accept and process data.



To perform System Restore follow the step provided below.

• Press Windows Key + R Key
• Type rstrui and press Enter.

Windows 10 photo app

Hi Ralph & Barbara,

We suggest that you reset Windows Photo app. Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type %appdata%\..\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photo_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
• Delete all the contents of the folder.
