I recently began having problems printing, saving to PDF, and taking screen captures. I went into Devices and Printers in Control Panel; when I right click on a printer, in Control Panel, Control Panel stops responding and I need to force it to close. In the Services App, the Print Spooler is Running. I followed instructions on some websites to run SFC and DSIM. "sfc /scannow" returns message, "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation." "dsim /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" returns message, "Error: 1009 The configuration registry database is corrupt." I als

Print to PDF causes my main application to hang

Hello,

I realize that your computer hangs while trying to print PDF. I want to know few more things to understand the issue.

• 
  Are you trying to print from browser or from any other application?
  
• 
  What application are you using to view pdf files?
  

In the mean time I would suggest to re-install the pdf application.

When I select "microsoft print to pdf" or "save as pdf" from various applications, that application hangs up and has to be aborted.

 

Print to PDF missing in Printer List

Hi William,

We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
• Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
• On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
  OK to save changes.
• Restart your PC.
• Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.
