Active Directory Backup and Restore from Windowss 2000 server to Windows 2022 server

I'm planning to upgrade my server, my server is Windows 2000 (pretty old). Planning to upgrade to Windows 2022. I cannot

do an inplace upgrade. Planning to backup the Active directory from Windows 2000 then restore to Windows 2022. Is this possible?

I haven't done a whole lot of research on this yet however I figured I would ask the community first...............*Laugh :laugh: Yea I know, I am being lazy.

 

What is Directory Services Restore Mode?????

to expand on that, it is used for restoring active directory on a domain controler.

From there you can do a restore, and you would have the ability to either push out the recovered ad data (thus making this one the primary controler) or to just let this server be a member domain controller.
