Windows 10: How to restore Onedrive format and Documents on File Explorer?

So what happened was the OneDrive Documents shown in grey was accidentally relocated to the Desktop OneDrive. The documents folder was restored to the default location, not the OneDrive. All files in in a folder were deleted. Anything in a folder remained in another folder on the desktop. I think put the folder back in One Drive and restored the files from the recycling bin. The Icon now is a Folder, not a grey document icon. All the files in folders are in another folder within the documents folder. I haven't added/edited any files or anything for a number of hours. How to restore original Documents folder (not Onedrive's) if I had not enough space in onedrive?

It sounds like your Documents folder may have been synced to OneDrive at some point, and now your computer is configured to use the OneDrive version of the folder instead of the local version.

If lost connection/sync is the cause:

1. would it take more than 10 minute wait after OneDrive reset for the document to show in File Explorer?
   
2. in lieu of waiting for sync, what if I manually copy from OneDrive to Local PC?
