Windows 10: How to run media creation tool with no absolute admin permissions or make a bootable usb...

Hi, I am using a limited PC with no admin, I can just access it as a standard user and I want to reinstall my windows on my laptop which isn’t working but running the media creation tool requires administrator permissions and unfortunately this is not some privilege I can just easily get on my limited PC and I need to reinstall windows on my laptop so looking for solutions on how to make a bootable usb without admin or run the MCT without admin

The error code 0x800424050 x AC01B means that the tool doesn't have permission for it to run. For us to assist you, we suggest that you follow the simple steps listed below:

1.Right-click on the Media Creation Tool.exe.

2.Press Properties.

3.Click on General.

4.At the bottom, click on Unblock.

5.Press Apply, and then OK.

Or

1. Download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool directly into the USB drive that you want to use as a bootable device (meaning you download the Tool into the same USB you chose to use as an Installation Media). If you already downloaded the tool on your PC's
Desktop, copy it into your USB.

2. Run the Tool directly from your USB, meaning you open File Explorer, locate the MediaCreationTool.exe in your USB and double-click to run it.

The installer should then create an Installation Media/Bootable USB.

Media Creation Tool question

Thanks Cerberus but Ive no problem downloading the Iso with the media creation tool. I don't think its the ISO that is the problem' I think the problem is when the Media Creation Tool is creating the bootable USB flash drive. So I think I can use the Media Creation Tool for that part...and as you say try something like Rufus to create the bootable USB flash drive

I still have this question though "The tutorial here says after going to the Microsoft site and selecting the Download Tool (Media Creation Tool) option that the Media Creation Tool should be save to the PC and run from there.
On Microsoft site the instructions are to Download the Tool and select Run (no saving to the PC). Is there a reason for saving it to the PC first as suggested on Tenforums?"

I was curious to see if others had encountered the issue I had with the Media Creation Tool. Ive never had a problem using it before
