  1. How to safely remove "SCSI Pass Through Direct" sptd2.sys driver?

Hello,Today I noticed my Windows Defender had "Kernel-Mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection" disabled because it's incompatible with sptd2.sys SCSI Pass Through Direct. After searching it on google I found out it's linked to DAEMON Tools, I have now uninstalled the program but the driver is still there apparently, then after more searching I red you have to uninstall the driver with the manufacturer uninstaller Duplex Secure. Now the problem is that if I go to the driver manufacturer website "http://www.duplexsecure.com/" it became a betting website ?. So I tried to get the install

  2. Does anyone else have a Core Isolation problem due to sptd2.sys Driver version: 2.2.0.0 being in the system32 drivers ?

    Hi Lester Payne,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

sptd2.sys is a SCSI Pass-Through Direct file. This is usually a virtual drive related to the driver, you can recall whether the computer installed this kind of software? We can try to find the driver and remove it by identifying the relevant software.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

How to safely remove "SCSI Pass Through Direct" sptd2.sys driver?

PC shuts down after turning it on

Try turning off Fast Startup. See here: How to Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10

This is not a BSOD problem so should be posted in the General Support - Windows 10 Forums but give the above a try first.

Never mind, I see a ton of dumps.

The latest dump indicates a problem with sptd2.sys.
    Code:
Remove SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's. Programs like Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, and others use these.

Run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out as shown, there are no more SPTD installations on your system, and you can close the window.

If you are over clocking, please set all voltages and speeds to normal.
