Windows 10: How to screenshot as jpgs?

    How to screenshot as jpgs?


    When I screenshot(windows + prt sc), the screenshots are png.

    Is there any way to change it so they are taken as jpg?

    JPG screenshots

    Hi George,

    You can actually save a screenshot directly as a .JPEG file in the Snipping tool, kindly refer to these steps:

    • Press File.
    • Select Save As....
    • Choose a File name.
    • In Save as type select the drop-down.
    • Choose JPEG file.
    • Hit Save.

    Update us on the result.

    Without using the snipping tool or any other 3rd party program, how does one save a screenshot as JPG? It should be simple such as
    Windows key + PrtScr. Please, I would like to save as JPG.

    We appreciate your response, Roy. Since there was no changes has been made on the computer, we suggest that you repair the
    Photo viewer and see if it'll fix the issue. Here are the steps on how:

    • Click on Start menu, then type in Apps and features.
    • Look for Photo on the list, then select Repair.
    • Close the windows, then try to open a .jpg file again in Photo viewer.
