Windows 10: How to Separate One Drive Files from PC Files

Everything in my One Drive Documents and Pictures also appear and sync with Docs and Pics under Libraries. Not sure what I did wrong when setting this all up and reorganizing but I want Docs and Pics under Libraries to be separate from the files in one drive. Also I don't know how to get Downloads back under Libraries. When I unpin it, it disappears and I can't move it to under libraries.

Stored files in Hard Drive

You can use Windows search. Just search for *.* on a desired drive. When list is done just arrange them by size LOL.

You can do it via command line as well and make an output text file showing files and their sizes (but without arrangement)

 

Page File

Set minimum and maximum to a constant number as suggested by others, that will help reduce fragmentation on the drive coz of different page file sizing.

 

Protecting files on a USB stick?

Even if you restrict access to read only, they can still copy the program. Read access is all copy needs.

My suggestion for simplicity is to create a small file on the drive and mark it hidden as well as marking it a system file, so even if they turn hidden files on the file won't show up. Put this file in a separate folder that is also marked as system, name the folder something random and windows important sounding. So even if they do find it, they won't know what it is and should ignore it. Then make the main program check for the file on execution and exit if the file isn't on the flash drive.

This should fool 90% of people unless they are pretty computer literate.
