I Tick "Create Icon on Dektop" When Installed Programs The Icon is Locate to C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop

Windows 10 Send to Desktop as Shortcut is missing

Hi,

>> right click "send to desktop as a shortcut"

1. What happens when do use the Send To > Desktop (Create shortcut)?

2. Is the items shown in the Send To menu, but not working?

3. Or is it missing?

In case 3, you can restore the file "Desktop (create shortcut)" from your "Default" user profile located at:

C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

and place it here:

C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

Note that it's not a regular shortcut file, but a file of type .DeskLink which allows you to create "shortcut" to the source file and place it on Desktop.
