Windows 10: How to set default Photo app window

I am using the latest versions of W11 pro and MS photo app.I have a ultra wide screen and would like to not have the photo app open to 3/4 of my screen. After opening a photo i resize the window and ot stays like that for the other photos. However when I close the app and reopen it, it is again 3/4 of the screen.Please help so that i can set the default opening size of the window. I do not mind using regedit.I have tried closing with the CTRL, shift keys but to no avail.Thx

Sorry to know that the issue persists. I suggest you to search for it in Search and pin it to Start Menu.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Go to search and type Photo Moto app. Right-click on it to pin it to Start menu.
• Go to Search. Type Settings. Click on it open.
• Click on System. Click on Default apps. Then follow the instructions from the link below to set Photo Moto as default app for Photos.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

 

Unable to set Photoscape as Default Photo Viewer

Photoscape is an app that is functioning normally.
I want to make it my Default Photo Viewer.
When I go to Settings/Default Apps it is not on the list
On one attempt to set, it stated that Photoscape was "unavailable" (not sure where that occurred)
I have tried a number of paths for default apps in Tutorial section without success
Suggestions for how to get around this barrier?
