    How to set up canon mg2500 printer?


    I am having trouble with my canon mg2522 printer. I downloaded the necessary App which is Canon Inkjet Utility. It isn't fully functional because it is now asking for a driver to be installed. I cannot find the right driver to complete the setup.

    unwanted optional updates for my non existant MG2500

    Several years ago, I must have had that printer but it is since long gone. Yet, when I check for updates, under Windows Update/view optional updates, the Printer Canon MG2500 is there. It is not showing under [DEVICES] nor Control panel Devices and printers. Looked for anything containing MG2500 on my computer and this is the list I got back. Any ideas how to remove this from the update screen?

    Canon printer won't print in windows 10

    I just had the same issue a while ago upon taking the Canon MG 2522 out of the box. I played around some and I got it to work:

    In the printer que message box, at the top there's a drop-down menu under "Printer"

    Click on Printer.

    Click on Properties (at the bottom of the list)

    A menu will pop-up with tabs running across; click on the fourth tab "Advanced."

    Here you will see that it shows "Driver ______whatever printers you have; choose the mg2500 series____________________ ___________________ New Drive (BUTTON)"

    Click on New Drive.

    You will be met with a two column list. Choose Canon on the left side then scroll down to the MG2500 series on the right column. Click okay.

    For some reason Windows 10 needs that extra permission I guess? Hell idk but I hope this helps!
