Windows 10: How to set Windows 11 for manual updates.

I am on Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2. I would like to manage Windows updates manually. I would like Windows to inform me about newly available updates automatically but not installing them, so I can decide which one I will install and when. I read the article "How to stop automatic updates" https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-stop-automatic-updates/536812f6-e184-43fc-a80b-a569c39c63fd and many others and learned about different way how to turn off automatic updates. I turn off automatic updates using the Method 1: Using Group Policy Editor. Never the less, I do not

Well that's why I asked. Mine is on SSD and takes 11 seconds. Your list of games will not appear if it has not checkd for updated suggested settings for awhile until it checks.

When it says it is refreshing the game list, it is checking, because NVIDIA periodically updates suggested settings. Plus it will look for those for new games you have installed.

So, the less it is run, the slower it will be.

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Vista Pre-SP1 vs. Vista SP1

I've been Windows Updating for two straight days and I finally saw SP1. If you want to troubleshoot it, follow these steps:

• Show hidden updates
• Manually install any failed updates (google the KB_____ and install from the windows site)
• Make sure everything in Device Manager is good to go

I had to do step two for like 4 or 5 updates to be able to see SP1.

Any other benchmarks you guys want to see? I might try PCMark05 (I think it works on Vista).
