  1. How to share a file across devices with the same OneDrive account?

I am new to OneDrive and want to do something that should be simple. I have three devices; a desktop with windows 10, a laptop with windows 11, and an android phone. All have OneDrive with the same account. I would like to manually put a file in the OneDrive folder on one device and access on the other devices? I can't find a way to do that.

    :)

OneDrive Shared Folder not Sharing Files

I created a View-Only Shared OneDrive Folder with another person.

I have confirmed that this folder is visible on their OneDrive Account and was downloaded onto all their devices.

I then added files to the Folder, but the files themselves have not been shared. The files are visible in my account, on all my devices, but on their side, the Folder remains empty.

    Did I miss a step?

P.S. - both of us are running Win10Pro with all the updates installed.

  3. Onedrive revoke all sharing

    Hi starbassfishing,

Thanks for your response. I apologize that my initial response doesn't seem to address your main concern earlier. There may be a misunderstanding in our end, but I appreciate you for providing additional information on the issue. Allow me to help you again, and let's work as a team together.

To revoke all sharing in OneDrive, you can follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to your OneDrive account.
    2. Select the Shared option from the left pane.
    3. Select the Shared by me option.
    4. Select the Manage access option next to the file or folder that you want to stop sharing.
    5. Select the Stop sharing option to revoke all sharing.

This will revoke all sharing for the selected files and folders. If you have subfolders, you will need to repeat these steps for each subfolder.

If you want to get a definitive list of what you have shared, you can follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to your OneDrive account.
    2. Select the Shared option from the left pane.
    3. Select the Shared by me option.
    4. You will see a list of files and folders that you have shared. You can select any file or folder to see who it has been shared with and what permissions they have.

In regard to your password that was gotten by the hackers, I would like to inform you that Microsoft will never send any form of emails that's asking you to reset your password without your request. If you received one, I'm afraid that is a phishing attack that's trying to trick people from getting their account information. It is very important to be cautious with handling suspicious emails to avoid this issue from happening again moving forward. Again, Microsoft will never send emails to collecting customer's confidential information like your email and account password. Microsoft values customer's security and privacy as it is our top priority.

Regarding your concern about sharing files and folders in OneDrive, Microsoft provides a comprehensive guide on how to share files and folders in OneDrive. You can share files and folders with specific people or create a sharing link that can be sent to anyone. You can also set permissions for the shared files and folders, such as allowing others to edit or view only.

If you’re concerned about sharing your email address when sharing files and folders, you can create a new email address and use it to sign up for a new Microsoft account. You can then use this new email address to share files and folders in OneDrive.

As for your concerns about Outlook, I understand that you’re not happy with the service. We are more than happy to hear your feedback and share your suggestions to our developers via the Feedback Hub app. Let your voice be heard and make a difference.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Microsoft Moderator

How to share a file across devices with the same OneDrive account?

OneDrive - shared link - one is required to create an account first?

I don't share files often, or better, I hardly share files.

    Now I shared a video.
Uploaded the video to OneDrive, right-click share, created a link, and sent it by mail to the person I wanted to share the file with (having a Gmail account)

That person tried to open the link and reported back that he should first create an account.

    Huh..?

Did I overlook a step somewhere?
