Windows 10: How to share internet access to a device that has only Ethernet-over-USB functionality.

I would like the device a sensor board with integrated web interface to receive a DHCP address from my router. Currently Windows gives it a 192.168.137.x address instead when using internet sharing. And then the device is not pingable by other machines on the network. I tried using a network bridge instead of internet sharing, and the minimal DHCP server functions on the device board caused the computer to get an IP address from the device rather than the router.

We also need which of the following cases of network sharing applies to your case:

1. One laptop using its Ethernet connection for Internet access and its WiFi adapter to broadcast.

2. One laptop that is connected to the Internet through a mobile USB modem and broadcasts the wireless network through its WiFi adapter.

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check if the following steps help to resolve the issue.

Step-1. Disable wi-fi adapter.

Step-2. Enable it again.

Step-3. Create wi-fi hot spot again.

Step-4. Now share network connection from where internet is connected to wi-fi hotspot adapter.

Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
   
2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer
   

 

Internet Connection Sharing, ASIX AX88179 (USB to Ethernet) to PS4

Hello, I'm looking for any help or ideas regarding an issue i'm recently having with using Internet Connection Sharing from my Laptop's (ASUS K501UW AB78) Network Connection (Ethernet) to a ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter for my PS4's Internet connection.

This has worked perfectly fine for 2 years or so. Now I'm suddenly having an issue where I share the internet with the PS4 and it's as if the PS4 is just stealing all of the internet my PC. Usually I can share the internet with the PS4 but still use my laptop to access websites, youtube, etc.

I've tried the most POWERFUL ALL FIX Method: Turning PC off and on again (including power draining)

Updating Windows and Everything it offered: Windows 10 Home Ver. 21H2 OS build: 19044.1766
