Windows 10: How to show svg image as THUMBNAILs in file explorer WITHOUT installing Powertoys?

As posted by Scott8792Just as the title says. Why isn't this supported natively without having to keep installing apps for basic functions?? I am trying to limit the processes that are running on my computer and not to keep adding more for basic user function.It is sad that basic functions Microsoft refuses to add, but they will force their bloatware down our throats or throw it in to a unnecessary app when we only need 1 feature in that app.

Why is the SVG icon thumbnail preview issue in File Explorer never resolved ?

I understand your frustration with the ongoing issue of SVG icon thumbnail previews in Windows File Explorer.

If you need to reinstall SVG See every time Windows starts and the operating system blocks it, this may be due to an operating system security policy or setting. Try running the SVG See installer with administrator privileges. Right-click on the installer and select "Run as administrator". If the problem persists, try contacting the developers of SVG See, who may be able to provide a solution specific to their application.

Regarding the Preview Pane previewer in PowerToys, if the preview pane doesn't seem to be working when the extension is set to On, there may be an advanced setting in Windows that is preventing the preview handler. Open the Options menu in Windows File Explorer and select the View tab. Under the View tab, you will see a list of Advanced Settings. Make sure there is a checkbox next to "Show preview handler in preview pane" in order to show the preview pane.



Thumbnails may not appear on paths managed by cloud storage solutions such as OneDrive, as these solutions may fetch thumbnails from the cloud rather than generating them locally.

File Explorer - Some PDF's show thumbnail image, some don’t

In Windows 10 File Explorer, I see thumbnails for a few of my pdf files but still see the generic Adobe pdf icon for most of them.

• In Windows 10 folder options, the checkbox for “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
• On the Adobe Reader preferences general tab, “Enable PDF thumbnails previews in Windows Explorer” is checked.
• Adobe Acrobat is set as my default PDF viewer.
• I have used Disk Cleanup to delete all my thumbnails to clear and rebuild the cache, yet the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how I can see all the pdf icons as thumbnails?
Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903, Build 18362.657
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (20.006.20034)
