Windows 10: How to show wifi settings when they disappeared?

Wifi settings completely disappeared from my laptop. I see under network & internet settings no mention of wifi whatsoever. I attempted to run the internet connections troubleshooter and it asked me to plug in an Ethernet cable to start. My laptop has never used Ethernet and only has usb-c ports. When I click “get help” button next to the not connected message I get a window that attempts to resolve the issue and states that I am connected using a virtual network adapter that they cannot test. My laptop has been rendered useless until this is resolved and I am in dire need

WiFi appears in Manage Known Networks, not in Show Available Networks

The list of WiFi connections shown when you click the WiFi icon in the taskbar is a list of all the signals that can currently be seen by the WiFi adapter. The list in Manage Known Networks is a list of all those you have previously successfully connected to, whether or not they are currently available.

The only plausible explanation is that for a while that WiFi signal had been turned off.

 

How to set up Wifi? HTC S720

Yes, HTC S620 or HTC Excalibur has wifi built-in. To set up wifi, follow these steps:

• turn the wifi radio on by going to settings>command manager>wifi
• it should automatically give you the list of available wifi hotspots
• If the network is protected by key, it will ask you you to enter the key

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
