    I believe if there are any tiles still in the start menu, you will not be able to shrink all the way.

    There is also a 3rd party app to get the start menu back to how previous versions of Windows had it -

    Good Morning;

    Will it be possible to shrink the start menu smaller than the lower limits right now? At this time I have six small icons across and a large, empty spot at the bottom of the start bar. It would be nice to be able to shrink it until there is only one medium
    or two or three small icons across instead of stopping with such a large side menu.

    as long as its not set for full screen, you should be able to click the top edge and drag it down, and then similar from the right edge to drag it across

    hover mouse pointer at top/side until you get the double arrow, then click and drag

    Is there a way to make the start menu so that the tile half can be less than three medium tiles wide? I only have two columns of three icons each, but I can't get it to be narrower than the space for three columns:
