Windows 10: How to sign in on my old laptop as I am not receiving a code to my active Microsoft email?

I had an old laptop in storage that I took out and began updating Windows. The last update for Windows 10 now asks me to receive a code from Microsoft to my current Hotmail account. I was able to use a password to sign in several times before, but that option is no longer available. Do you have any recommendations? I only see four options available to click; the wifi icon, the power icon, and the accesability, in addition to the sign in Yes, I have checked multiple folders in my email; inbox, spam, other, and have searched for a code. I'm not sure an email was sent from the computer it show'

Cannot sign in microsoft account.

My device: Lumia 520. GDR2.
I cannot sign in my Microsoft account on my device. It didnt say any error but Microsoft account is not listed in Email and account list. When I click add button, it will show microsoft account option but after press sign in, it is still not shown in email
and account. Another problem is i cannot delete facebook account. Error code: 0x83cf1202. I have tried as suggested here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2475837/en-us#step0x83cf1202 but as my Microsoft account is not shown, I cannot do step 6.

Any suggestion?

Here is the step to remove that old email address.

Start typing an email address into the “To” field. As soon as you see the old email address being recommended as one of the potential candidates, use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of suggestions. Once you highlight the old email address, type the delete key. In many cases, this will actually remove the entry not only from the current list of suggestions but from future suggestions as well. You may even find that as you mouse over the drop-down list the highlighted item will have an “x” to explicitly allow you to delete it.

Just do this step and your good to go.

How can I un-link my current Microsoft account that is tagged to my Windows activation license and link it to a new Microsoft account?

You don't make a new account & try to move your entitlements to it, you change the email address associated with the original account.
