Windows 10: How to sign-in to Windows 10 by typing password without pressing ENTER key?

Hello. I used to just type my password and my system automatically signs me in once I get it right. I want to apply this same setting to another laptop because now it requires me to press the ENTER key even after I typed my password. I have read some forums but they all recommend using the PIN. Is the above setting available for passwords? Or could it be related to a specific OS build? Please help. Thank you.

You can reset your password following the next steps:

• Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
• Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
• Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
• Press e for edit.
• Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
• Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
• Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
• Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
• Type in passwd yourusername
• Set your new password.
• Restart your system.

 

Password to sign in

If you are using Microsoft account to login to Windows 10, there is no option to disable the password and sign in to Windows 10 directly without entering password.

Step 1:

If you are using Local account to login to Windows 10, you can disable the password and sign in to Windows 10 directly without entering password. Follow the below steps if you use Local account.

  Click on Change under Change your account password.

  Enter your current password and leave the other two files for new password as empty and close the windows by clicking on

You may also create the 4 digit PIN which will reduce your time to enter full password. Follow the below steps.

Hello. This is the easiest way to automatically login to Windows 10 without entering the password.

Step 1: First step is to open Run command box by simultaneously pressing Windows logo and R keys (Windows+R). In the Run dialog box, type Netplwiz and then press Enter key.

Step 2: In the resulting User Accounts dialog, select your user account first and then uncheck the option labelled Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Click Apply button to see Automatically sign in box.

Step 3: In the Automatically sign in dialog, type your password and then re-enter the password to confirm the same.

Finally, click OK button.
