    How to sort a playlist alphabetically in the new Windows 11 Media Player?


    How do we sort a playlist alphabetically in the new Windows 11 Media Player?I think it used to be called Groove Music?If I have a playlist of 200 mp3 files from a lecture series in a random order as they are when added from a folder, the only way that I can see to reorder these is by manually dragging and dropping them, which isn't what you call computationally efficient...

    Windows 11 - Windows Media Player Legacy - Why does Cast to Device sort all tracks in my playlists?

    Hi Tommy - Thanks for your response and sorry for the delay in replying.

    Yes, you care correct.

    If I use Windows Legacy Media Player and Cast to Device to play a playlist, my playlist is sorted into alphabetical order before playing thus defeating the random selection I want. It's not possible to use Shuffle/Random play in the Cast to Device window, so I shuffle my playlist before Casting to Device.

    If I use the new Windows 11 Media Player with any playlist and then Cast to Device, only the first track of the playlist is played, then it's stops and will not play any further tracks.

    Hope you have some ideas.

    Saving playlists in windows media player

    I am trying to add a playlist in windows media player. I have several from my time with windows 7. I add the songs to the playlist and try to save the new list. I would type in the name and I would get "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while creating
    or saving the playlist." I have tried many things and I have looked at the suggested fixes but I have no idea what to do.

    Any suggestions that can help?

    I know I ask a lot but I try to help.

    For now, you may also follow this steps on how to find which Playlist a particular song is placed:

    • Click on one of your Playlists.
    • Go to the Search box, and then type the title of the song.

    If the song is on that particular Playlist, it would show up.

    If the song is not on the Playlist, you would get a message: There are no items matching "Title of the song" in this view.
