Thanks for getting back to me Kiran. You asked if I was using Raptr app on my PC. I had no idea about this so I just checked my apps file and was shocked to see how many apps I have and I never use them! And yes, there is a Raptr app in my apps file.

QUESTION: Is it okay for me to delete a lot of these apps being careful not to delete the Microsoft ones?

I don't know much about computers, this old girl only uses her computer for emailing and doing Google searches which is why I'm not interested in these apps. Thanks so much.

 

It would appear you have installed something from Interactive Brokers (judging by the clientam address below the popup). The popup would appear to be something to do with this, some trading news/advice/opinion perhaps? Is there an option in the software to turn off alerts?

 

I have no software installed from Interactive Brokers.

There is not an option to turn off the alerts.

 

Where does the clientam.com address below the popup come from then?

 

Press the Windows key+R in the Run box type appwiz.cpl and press enter
In Programs and Features, see if you have Handy Trader installed. If so, uninstall it

Handy Trader is not installed.

 

You may have a browser extension installed.
Download Junkware Removal Tool.
Then download ADWCleaner, scan, Clean, and reboot. Both programs come up with a white text file when done showing you what they removed.

 

I ran Adware Cleaner and the Junkware Removal tool.

Will report here on whether they worked.
