Windows 10: How to stop accessing the dead HDDon D: though SDDon C: works perfectly

Hello community,

Do you know how can i disable the windows and other programs to stop accessing the HDD as it is corrupt.

Though i could recover files from the HDD , i just want to leave it in the system as it is.

So question is how can i stop windows or other programs which is accessing D: as i assume program are made to watch D: , how to stop that watching/accessing or make the windows totally forget the d:?

microphone stopped being recognised by Windows 10 - worked perfectly for two years

My microphone stopped working. Windows 10 just doesn't recognise it if I plug it in or disconnect it. It was working perfectly a few hours ago and nothing has changed. Any suggestions? If I right click on the speaker icon, go to Recording Devices its not
listed. And if I disconnect it by USB and reconnect it, it doesn't show any activity in the window relating to it. Any suggestions?

• Please be informed us the troubleshooting steps you have already tried.

This issue might be due to some error in system settings.

If you have not yet tried the below steps, I suggest you to perform and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to log out from the current user account, restart the computer and log-in with the administrator account and check if you are able to access the local drivers.

If the issue still persists,

Step 2: I suggest you to place the computer in safe mode, try to log-in with administrator account and check if the issue persists.
