    How to stop automatic video downloads on news channels


    Whenever I click on a news item to read it automatically downloads the news commentators announcement in a video. I don't want to view the video, I am happy just to read the text. This automatic download of their video is using up my data and pushing me beyond my useage. How do I stop the videos from automatically downloading? Please help.

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

    A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    videos on news channels

    recently had to have m y computer completely cleaned at best buy. Now I cannot view most videos, especcially from news channels like aol.com.

    I have adobe flash player installed but there must be something else that is needed. Any ideas would help. Am using windows 10
