    How To Stop Explorer Automatically Hitting 'Alt'


    Hi,As of a few days ago I've got a new issue in Windows 11. This only seems to happen specifically in Windows Explorer windows, where my folders and files are. My browser, my games, Discord, other programs all function normally, this is only happening in Explorer.Basically, every time I try to edit metadata of files or rename them or otherwise interact with the files in folders, the focus of the window 'jumps' to the ribbon, where options like New or Sort or View are. This seems to be the behaviour if you press the Alt key, but I'm not doing that.It's making it extraordinarily frustrating to m

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

    A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
