Windows 10: How to stop multiple task bar icons from sticking together when I drag them?

So my task bar looks like this:[File Explorer] [Browser] [Browser] [Steam] [Discord]If I try to drag one of the two [browser] items, both of them move together. No matter what I do they stay together. So I want to be able to drag one of them and move it by itself. For example:[File Explorer} [Browser] [Steam] [Browser] [Discord]but i can't, the browser icons are stuck together. So if I try, it looks like this:[File explorer] [Steam] [Browser] [Browser] [Discord]So how do I make it behave like the 2nd example instead of the 3rd? And just so its clear, telling it to never combine task bar button

Trying to move desktop icon to the task bar. Cannot make it “stick” to the taskbar

• what exactly when you try to stick the excel file to the taskbar?

If you are trying to pin the excel workbook to the taskbar.

Follow the steps below.

  Click on the start menu, select the icon and right-click on the icon.
  
• 
  From the list, select pin it to taskbar or pin it to start.
  

Also, you can drag the icon from the desktop and drop on the task bar.

Opening an app from an icon pinned to the task bar gives strange result

Thanks for the quick response. None of the suggestions worked although I did not download a fresh version. I did find a solution by dragging the icon from its location to the task bar. Strange that pinning introduces unwanted steps while dragging the icon gives a clean opening.

• In Notification Area Icons, click on Select
  which icons appear on Taskbar.
• On in the drop-down list next to
  Power, and then click OK.

If the issue still persists you can try Updating the latest Power management driver software for Windows 10 from the manufacturer website.
