  1. How to stop my Win10 Prof. automatically saving photos to HDD?

    Hi all.
I've noticed my computer is saving any photos I happen to download off the web or my camera and storing to a hard drive folder without my permission.

Is there any way of stopping this happening in future, and deleting what is already in this folder?

Thanks for any help with this.

  3. Whatsapp Photos - Photos automatically saving to phone memory

Whatsapp would have to add this feature through an update for the Windows Phone version of their app, since the app would have to be able to use the
Storage Sense app on the phone.

Regarding the SD card problem, what happens when you try to move an app, do you get an error message? If so could you please tell us what the message tells you?

    Regards

How to stop my Win10 Prof. automatically saving photos to HDD?

You can just open the folder and delete any photos you don`t want.

How is it saving photos without your permission or interaction ?

If you hook you camera up to your PC the most it should do is open a folder on the camera to view the photos, which is totally normal.

And if you save an image from the web, it should be asking you where you want to save it.

    Check your auto play options.

  5. Hello AddRAM - Nowhere in the folder is there a delete option, and I can't understand why it's saving photos in a sort of montage without any input from me.

I'll check on it again and see if I've been missing something.

    Thank You.

  7. I've found an option for deleting, but first I would have to sit here half the night checking the boxes of photos and text pieces going back months. There's no 'Select All' - 'Delete.

The main title is 'Photos' .. then subtitle 'COLLECTION' ... and the menu gives the options ..'Refresh' - 'Select' - Slideshow - 'Import'.

Under 'Select' there is the option for deleting only those where you tick the box.

A notice appeared sayiong ... ;Remove this folder? If you remove the 'My Pictures' folder from 'Pictures', it won't appear in 'Pictures' anymore, but won't be deleted'.

I don't want the Windows 10 Professional OS to be deciding for me what to save or delete.

It should be a very simple matter to cancel and uninstall whatever rogue program is doing this.

    Thanks for your interest.

  8. How to stop my Win10 Prof. automatically saving photos to HDD?

    Hi sliced tomatoes,

Welcome to the forum! If you select one photo in the folder and hit control-a (ctrl & a together), you should be able to select everything in the folder. Then you just hit the delete button.

Careful not to permanently delete anything important!

  9. Thanks snarks - I'll check that out. I hit the wrong button and unsubscribed to this thread, and can't see the 'subscribe to this thread' option at the top of the page.

How to stop my Win10 Prof. automatically saving photos to HDD?

@sliced tomatoes, instead of trying to use the 'Photos' app, open File Explorer and go to your Pictures folder. It's then easy to delete individual files or select some or all of them to delete.

  14. Hi Wullail.

'Photos'. Clicking 'Photos' brings up a mile of not just photos but bits and pieces of text and even parts of videos. I don't want my computer and internet activities recorded automatically to hard drive as though I have an inbuilt CCTV in my system.
