Windows 10: How to stop the file & folder thumbnail image in Explorer - Windows 11 pro

For some reason in Explorer when I move a file into another folder I get a thumbnail of the file that covers up the name of the folders. Useless, I can already see the file type & know what it is because I created it. I have selected show icon only with no thumbnail everywhere that the option is there, but it is still there when moving files or folders in Explorer.I'm using Windows 11 Pro V. 10.0.26100 Build 26100I would love to speak to the programmer that suggested this should be added to Windows to find out why it is needed & why is it so difficult to turn off.Thanks for any help!

Windows Explorer crashes and thumbnails problem

Hi, I hope you can help me.
Windows Explorer is no longer showing thumbnails on files played by Windows Media Player. I've run cmd and regsvr32 shmedia.dll and regsvr32 shimgvw.dll. That seemed to solve the problem...but it created a different one. Now when I try to open a folder on an external hard drive it crashes. I read in an old 2008 post it was an avi file causing the problem and suggested the run cmd regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll. That solved the opening problem but recreated the thumbnail problem. Any help to achieve both functions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

File Explorer - Some PDF's show thumbnail image, some don’t

In Windows 10 File Explorer, I see thumbnails for a few of my pdf files but still see the generic Adobe pdf icon for most of them.

• In Windows 10 folder options, the checkbox for “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
• On the Adobe Reader preferences general tab, “Enable PDF thumbnails previews in Windows Explorer” is checked.
• Adobe Acrobat is set as my default PDF viewer.
• I have used Disk Cleanup to delete all my thumbnails to clear and rebuild the cache, yet the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how I can see all the pdf icons as thumbnails?

Disable Windows Explorer icons and thumbnail images in ALL folders

In Windows 10 Pro, there is a Window Explorer option in View to select "Details". How do I set the default to show file Details in ALL folders and ALL subfolders permanently in a drive? I never ever want to see icons, thumbnail images, lists, etc. ever again. I've tried the Folder Options route below but this never seems to work permanently or in all subfolders. Please help. It's one of my New Year's resolution to never ever see icons again in Window Explorer. Thank you.
