Windows 10: How to stop Windows 10 from deleting files when I left click on them

A few days back windows 10 began deleting shortcuts when I double click on them in mi desktop computer.If I double click on a folder inside windows media player, the folder gets deleted.If I click on an email inside my inbox in Thunderbird, all emails are deleted from the inbox folder.Y searched for a solution and followed several proposals:1. I did a full scan for viruses and malware of my PC with Windows Security, none was found.2. I checked mouse drivers and asked to install the latest, they were already installed.3. I checked that two registry keys have value of none:HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Dir

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

• Have downloaded Windows 10 through Windows Updates?

If you have downloaded through Windows Updates, follow the below steps to delete:

All the downloaded updated would be saved in the 'Software Distribution folder'.

Step1: Stop Automatic Updates

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Search
  
• 
  Type in services.msc and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Double-click on Automatic Updates
  
• 
  Click on Stop
  

Step 2: Delete the downloaded file

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Sesarch
  
• 
  Type in %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
  
• 
  Open the Download folder and delete its contents
  

Step 3: If you have downloaded the .ISO file follow the below steps

a) Click Windows + C on the
keyboard.

b) Click on Download
folder in the left pane.

c) Now you may delete the files.
