  1. How to stop Windows 11 from changing input language automatically

I'm not certain when it occurs, but Windows keeps changing the input language automatically, and I want it to stop. It's annoying. I wish to maintain Japanese as the default, or at least have it remain on the last language set. I have several input methods installed, and I don't want to remove any. How can I prevent Windows from altering it? Here are my language settings:I want to keep my Windows display language to English by default and the input to Japanese IME.

    :)

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

And, sort of the same here --> Add a language or keyboard

Quote from above MS web page:

Spoiler Download and install language packs
You'll need to download the language pack if you want to make a language your Windows display language (that's the language you see most often in Windows and apps).
    • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
    • Tap or click Time and language, and then tap or click Region and language.
    • Tap or click a language that says Language pack available underneath, and then tap or click Options.
    • Tap or click Download. The download process might take a while, depending on your PC and the size of the language pack.
If you want to make this your display language, see the next section "Change your Windows display language".
    Change your Windows display language
To change your Windows display language (that's the language you see most often in Windows and apps), first add a language, download and install the language pack, and then follow these steps.
    • Tap or click the language that you want to set as your display language.
    • Tap or click Set as primary to move the language to the top of the list. If the language can become your Windows display language, you'll see Will be display language after next sign-in appear under the language.
    • Sign out and then sign back in to finish.
And here is some more info --> Add Language Packs to Windows

  3. Change input language based on keyboard?

    Hi Tim,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

We understand that, you face issues with automatically switch input languages based on which keyboard on Windows 10 and I'd be certainly help you.

For a better clarity of your issue, please answer these queries below:

    • Do you wish to perform this task, on any particular Windows

      application?
    • Why do you want to perform this task?
The Automatically switch keyboard to match language of surrounding text option is only available in OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.

When the Automatically switch keyboard to match language of surrounding text option is turned on, it changes the keyboard's layout to the language that matches the language of text adjacent to the cursor's position.

For more information, refer to the link below:

    Turn on automatic language options:
Turn on automatic language detection - Microsoft Support

Your default keyboard layout or input method is the one that’s automatically used with the language you see Windows in (for example, the QWERTY keyboard for American English). If you want to keep your Windows language the same but use a different keyboard
    automatically, follow these steps:

    1. Open Control Panel by entering Control Panel in the search box, and then

    tapping or clicking Control Panel.

2.Enter Add a language in the search box, and then tap or click Add a

    language.

    3.Tap or click Advanced settings.

4.Under Override for default input method, choose the keyboard layout or input method you'd like to be your new default, and then tap or click Save.

How to stop Windows 11 from changing input language automatically

Prevent language from automatically being changed

    • Since Keyla has stopped working.
    • Two.
    • When I test if the language stays after switching between programs - I switch to a different program, then switch the language, then switch to the previous program.
The steps you suggested didn't work, as I don't want to remove any of the languages.
