  1. How to stream media specifically audio from an Android device to PC, digitally, over USB?

On my setup and in my use cases, i need to listening audio that coming from my Phone, on my PC. Alternatives like Bluetooth has stability issues on connectivity and the streaming is lossy. I need a way such that my Android devices routes the inner audio to the PC and i should be able to listen both what's going on in my Computer and what haves been streamed from my Smartphone, without every time changing, plugging/ unplugging my Headphone, audio system etc. Considering modern phones do not have 3,5 mm Analog audio output, setting aside the quality loss because of multiple conversion happening

    :)

  2. USB-IF to Develop Media Agnostic USB Specification

The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) today announced the development of the Media Agnostic (MA) USB specification. The specification is designed to allow wireless devices and docking stations to communicate over the USB protocol, without the need for a physical USB connection. An important design goal of the specification is to achieve wireless gigabit transfer rates while leveraging existing USB infrastructure, present in the form of:

    • Open application programming interfaces in every major operating system
    • USB class specifications by USB-IF device working groups
    • A wealth of open-source/OS specific drivers for USB classes
    • Vendor-specific device drivers for a multitude of USB vendor-specific devices

The WiGig Serial Extension (WSE) v1.2 specification from the Wi-Fi Alliance will provide the initial foundation for the Media Agnostic USB specification. The WSE specification has been formally transferred to the USB-IF from the Wi-Fi Alliance, and the WSE specification already incorporates the USB protocol.

"We are pleased to see the USB-IF use the WiGig Serial Extension in its development of the Media Agnostic USB specification," said Edgar Figueroa, president and CEO of Wi-Fi Alliance. "Advanced wireless usages of serial bus technology have the potential to deliver great benefit to users."

Wireless devices implementing the Media Agnostic USB specification will be compliant with SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) and Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0). The USB-IF has established a Media Agnostic USB Work Group which is currently developing the MA USB specification 1.0.

Digital Media device listed as Digital Audio device in Printer and Devices

My Window 7 worked perfect when connected to my Vizio Di500 Smart TV. So I purchased a Toshiba C55D - Windows 10 laptop expecting same results. Don’t know what I was thinking but connecting a laptop to a television using an
HDMI cable should not be that difficult.

When I turn the TV on, the display is HUGE and it is set to the highest (1920 x 1080 and 1366 x 768). In th eprinter and device settings - properties list the Samsung as Digital Media Device but the Vizio is listed as Digital
Audio Device. How to I change it to Media? What do I need to do for the display to be normal?

I went to Media Streaming Options, I see the Samsung TV listed but not the Vizio. I checked local network and all networks, still not Vizio.

    Please help.

    Digital media device

Thanks for replying with these suggestions. I'm out of town till next week so will try them then and post what happens.

I have already checked Device Manager, and the speakers are listed as Digital Media devices and are not in the Audio inputs and outputs, nor the Sound, Video, Game Controller groupings.
