Windows 10: How to substitute a personal account for a defunct business account on my Windows 10 PC

I've got a "work or school" account to which I no longer have access. In order to use my Personal MS 365 Office subscription I need to delete the business account and substitute my personal account. Windows won't let me do this. I followed this procedure: 1. Go to settings. 2. Click "Accounts". 3. Click "Access work or school" on the left side. 4. Click on the account I want to remove and press "Disconnect". 5. Windows gives me "Are you sure ... " prompt and I say "Yes". 6. Windows then asks me to login with another account. I entered my personal account, but Windows says this account i

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

Personal and Business Account on Same Desktop

OK, I created a new account without an email address. Now I have a business account, a Microsoft account and a new account with no email address. When I'm in the business account, I still can't switch user to any of the two other accounts. Am I missing a step? To be clear, what I'm trying to achieve is having a business account and a Microsoft account (personal) and I'd like to be able to switch between these 2 accounts. Any other suggestions? Tx

 

Separating personal and business accounts in windows 10

Hello,

I have 2 personal windows 10 PCs connect to my Microsoft account. I was given a Business windows 10 computer that has a local admin account. I wanted to listen to Groove music, so I logged in. Now my business PC has my Microsoft Account to login.

What is the correct way to separate Personal and Business PCs. Now that my Business PC requires my personal login, why won't OneDrive connect? It's looking for Business account...
