Windows 10: how to suspend EXE/program so that its uses less memory/RAM without having to close it?

Ive a 2nd virtual desktop for certain tasks but I don’t use it often, so Im wondering if theres a way to suspend a program so that it uses less less memory/RAM and then when I click on the program window it wakes up again? Id rather not have to close and open the program each time I start/stop using it – the program in question is Vivaldi browser, ive multiple windows with about 10 tabs in each window that I sometimes use for tasks

why does the file explorer closes everytime a folder with exe programs is opened. an error

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately it did not work.

The MS support walked thru similar steps, we even reinstalled, deleted the folder but with no resolution.

It is strange because this happens specifically on folders that have .exe programs. I can access other folders.

The programs within the directory are listed and about 20 seconds later it closes.

How can I recover RAM without closing these basic programs?

I continually get the message to close program to recover memory, yet I have 6 GB Ram and only keep email and browser active, both of which crash as a result. How can I recover RAM without closing these basic programs?
