  1. How to switch network packet forwarding on?

In a room I have only internet by WiFi and not by cable.
I have a "music box" without WiFi and only an cable internet connector.
I hava also a Laptop with WiFi and an cable connector.
My plan is to connect the "music box" with a cable to the
laptop and the laptop by WiFI to internet.
The laptop had to forward the internet packets, that get in by the cable adaptor
from the "music box" via the Wifi adaptor to internet and vice versa.
How can I configure the Windows 10 pro on my laptop to switch that
    packet forward behaviour on?

    :)

Crossover computer connection vs Network switch, broadcast packet differences ? Really slow boot time with network debug

    • Problem:
      • Network configuration results in 10 minute operating system load time.
    • Setup
      • Two Windows 10 systems, latest updates
      • connected directly with ethernet cable (non-crossover)
      • Static IPs on both
      • Windows Kernel Network Debugging is enabled
      • Windows Firewall is disabled on target
      • Host machine has two network interfaces
    • Questions:
      • How does crossover connections affect broadcast packets?
      • Could the network switch store-and-forward table be responsible?
    • Observations:
      • the 10 minute boot time hang is at spinning windows boot splash
      • I assume the KDNET filter is having a hard time...
      • When I connect both PCs to a network switch, problem solved
      • when I disable network debug, problem solved
      • Connected to target 169.254.78.132 on port 50008 on local IP 192.168.128.1 prints in WinDbg on connection, with network switch or crossover cable
      • Connected to target 172.29.2.197 on port 50008 on local IP 172.29.13.140 is when DHCP is enabled on target, connecting through primary network interface.
      • Leaving WinDbg closed (no kernel debug session open), still slow
      • List of IP addresses of target as per netadapter

    3G network

    • switch the phone back to dual-mode
    • reboot
    • Menu » Settings » Connectivity » Packet data » High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) » Disable
Did that help? If yes, we need the name of your network operator.

How to switch network packet forwarding on?

Windows 10 v1709 switches from Private to Public network

    Hi Bruce,

It is possible that there is an issue with the network profiles of the computer and that can be the reason why the network always switches to Public network. We recommend that you delete all known network profiles to resolve the issue. To do this, follow
    these steps:

    • Open command prompt as administrator.
    • In the command prompt window, type netsh wlan show profiles
      and press Enter.
    • Type netsh wlan delete profile name=[ProfileName] and press Enter.
    • Repeat the third step for the rest of network profiles you've seen after running the command in the second step.
    • Check if the network will still switch to Public.

    Keep us posted.
