Yea, I would create a local account and just use your school account to login to Outlook and Onedrive.

Switch from Work or school account to a local account

I have been using my local account on Win 11 Pro until yesterday when I connected my work account. I was able to switch between two accounts but today I'm not able to switch to local account because when I click on "switch user" it gives me a space to input email address and password, and below it displays "Sign in to: Your work or school account."

The local account I'm using on the PC is a MS outlook account, but I made it a local account and I'm able to sing into the PC using the name and password different from MS outlook credentials.

Kindly advise on how to switch from work account to local account that do not use email address for sign in.

I was thinking of doing that, but it will be a PITA setting everything up on the 2nd account again. I might go that way and just spend the time getting the account in order.

The problem is, I would need to switch at the start of every day. Extra reset and waiting for the settings to be applied etc. Also, I'm not sure whether one drive would be maintained after switching back to a local account. I wouldn't want to have to re-sync every time I logged in. I may have to do some testing to see if onedrive is maintained after switching back to a local account.
