Windows 10: How to System Restore without password

Have Windows 10 machine that crashed and its not booting. Automatic repair does not fix issue. Trying to pursue a System Restore but it asks me for a password which I cant remember. I have other machines with same MS account and I have reset the password and try utilizing it without success. Is there a way to circumvent the entry of password to do a repair?

System Image Restore Is Not Recognizing My Password

Although I do have 2-step verification I don't think it was the problem as I have been able to do a system restore in the past with it enabled. I also tried logging into my account on the pc with the password & that failed too. I was certainly careful in entering the password. After changing the password all was fine so I don't know whether something got messed up with the original password change or what else may have caused it.

To address your concern, we suggest that you try to undo the restore or pick another restore point.

Please follow these steps to access system restore:

• Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, and then select Control Panel.
  
• Search Control Panel for Recovery.
  
• Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
