  1. How to tackle the issue of File Explorer or any new installed App launch failure?


    File Explorer fails to launch on my Windows. All solutions proposed like Windows+E shortcut, restarting the task from task manager, launching from start menu, device image clear have been tried and nothing works. The screen goes blank for a second and we are back to desktop screen.Another issue I am facing I recently installed whatsapp, but it fails to launch too. Task Manager is not able to spawn these task somehow.Somehow if I am able to navigate via downloads folder or pictures the window opens wierdly as shown in the screenshot.

    Cannot launch File Explorer from taskbar in Windows 10

    Hi Juzzy,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    • First unpin the File Explorer from the task bar.
    • Press Windows + E.
    • And right click on File Explorer in the taskbar.
    • And Pin the File Explorer to Taskbar and Check if it helps.

    I started with the steps recommended by Kapil Arya. Part way through I switched to your suggestions and the File Explorer launched following a reboot following step3.

    I appreciate your time and efforts in troubleshooting & I would also like to thank you for helping us with the steps that you have already tried. As you mentioned that you are able to install it but are not able to launch the application. This issue
    can occur due to corrupted user profile. However I would still suggest you to follow the steps provided in the article:
    Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.



    If the issue still persist, then I would request you to create a
    new user account
    and try launching the app in it.
