  1. How to take a backup of C Drive (Operating System) in Windows 10 Pro?

Please help me in taking a backup of my Operating System of Windows 10 Pro. I would like to take a backup of only Operating System and nothing else, so that it takes a very small space of my Partition. I want this to recover from a state where my Desktop PC would not boot or behave normally. Also let me know how to recover my Desktop PC if I need to do so. If a Booting DVD could be created with the backup within a normal DVD size of 4.32 GB -please explain.
    Thanks in advance.

  3. Windows backup and restore

    Hi Laurie,

It's not possible to save system image backup in root drive. What's recommended is to create a backup in an external hard drive. Operating System is in C Drive and it cannot be saved on the same Drive. It would defeat the purpose of creating an image.

Should you have further questions, feel free to post on this thread.

How to take a backup of C Drive (Operating System) in Windows 10 Pro?

A recovery drive will be roughly 16 GB.

TBH, with Windows 10 recovery drives are not that critical, as you can simply use the media creation tool to create a bootable dvd or flash drive installation drive which should fit on an 8GB flash drive, or a dvd provided you only choose a 32 or 64 bit version.

All experts here recommend using Macrium Reflect Free to create an image backup which can contain all your apps as well, and settings etc. Will take more space but a ton less hassle when recovering from a drive failure etc.
