Windows 10: How to test your USB with a Windows 10 iso download

I have downloaded a Win 10 ISO to a USB. After a few attempts to install Windows using this USB, I am beginning to wonder if there is corruption in the files on the USB. I say this because on a brand new install, Reliability Monitor is throwing all sorts of errors and sfc/ scannow also reports corrupt files that cannot be fixed. This is on a brand new clean install, where all I have loaded is the chipset driver and graphics driver, no programs. Device Manager shows no issues.

How can I test this USB to check if it is OK. Or should I rather just re-download the whole ISO again to be safe?

You need to configure your BIOS to boot from the USB media.

Are you able to download windows 10 ISO file from Microsoft Windows 10 download website from another pc.

Download Windows 10

Load that ISO file using Rufus tool (free) on USB flash drive and use USB to boot up your problem pc.

You can use "repair" option from ISO install to see if that corrects your problem.

 

If there was a checksum available at the download page, you could use that, but I don't remember if there is.

I think I will play it safe and re-download the ISO first.
