Windows 10: How to trace execution of a program

I'm troubleshooting an issue with a shortcut, which doesn't actually execute the program that it points to. What I mean is that I think the name of any shortcut is simply the name of the shortcut and not necessarily the name of the executable. Please see my question "How to create a desktop shortcut for a program that is pinned to the Task Bar" for details.I'd like to try tracing of the steps that the shortcut in question takes. I believe it's somthing that is initiated when booting the system, but I've forgotten the exact process.TIA for your help.SweetTasha.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

ATTEMPTED EXECUTE OF NOEXECUTE MEMORY Blue Screen of Death error appears when a device driver attempts to execute a program from a non-executable area of the memory. An error in the RAM (Random Access Memory) can also cause this BSOD error.

If you are using a built-in webcam, then, update the webcam driver and check if that helps.

• Press 'Windows key + X' and choose 'Device Manager'.
• Under 'Imaging devices', right-click on the webcam driver and update the driver.
