How to turn inactive app's window background color darker/restore default color?

I just got a new laptop with Windows 10 and accidentally turned on a feature to make the background color of the inactive app darker not just the titlebar, but the entire window of each inactive apps. I can't find the settings again and this is really annoying to not able to see the content in the inactive windows unless manually switch back to them the color of the window will restore to normal settings of an active window.

Does anyone know what settings in Windows 10 controls this behavior so that I can restore to the default setting where inactive app's window remain in the same color of the active ones? Thanks!

The setting I touched to enable this is probably related to battery/power settings, but I'm not sure and couldn't find any there

    :)

I realize that the background color changed from blue to black. I will try to help you with this issue.

    • Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?

Close all open windows, restart the computer once and then login to the computer to check if that helps.

  3. Default Background color on widescreen video playback

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work for me. It merely changed the application's theme, not the background color of a video playback.
