Windows 10: How to turn of news feed in search bar?

In Windows 10, how do I disable the news feed in the search bar as shown below circled in red?

Search Bar not displaying news feed...

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 on a new hard drive and the search bar used to display "Trending Now" popular news items - provided by bing.com - when I clicked on the search bar. With the latest Win10 Pro 15.11 update this feature has either been turned
off or disabled. There used to be three dots in the upper right hand corner of search for the popular news feed settings and this is even gone now.

Now the search is just an ugly blank white page which only states, "Search for: Apps, Settings, Files, Web". I liked the popular news items as opposed to this white page. Is it even possible to get the popular news feed back into the search bar? If so, how
can it be done?

I'm curious, did you give up on Win10 and downgrade? Or did you switch to something else like Linux? I all only ask because you stated "back When I still used Windows 10" implying it is not your current OS.

Yes, there is a proper search bar now next to the start button. The first time you click on it Cortana pops up, but I turned her off. After disabling Cortana is when the
Trending Now popular news items would appear when you click on the search. Now, it's all gone. I have a desktop and a laptop both running Win10 and after this latest update the search on both machines is now just a blank white page.

I'm not sure if the popular news feed was simply turned off or disabled at the OS level. If it was only turned off by the Win10 Pro 15.11 update then I would like to now how to reactivate it if possible.

How do I turn off Microsoft Edge news feed on my children's accounts! It's impossible to follow the steps provided as the task bar isn't available in a child's profile and I've been able to turn it off on my profile but it's not transferable to my children's profiles. They shouldn't have access to News Feeds with no option to turn it off. Instructions please!
