Windows 10: How to turn off automatic update downloads?

The Win10 automatic update downloads are starting to interfere with my usage. I'll be playing VR around 1700~1800 at night and Windows decides to peg my harddrive with update downloads, causing all sorts of WMR/SteamVR freezes and basically ruins my gaming.

I have usage hours set to 0800 to 0200, so it shouldn't automatically update until between 0201 and 0759. I have "Automatically download updates" turned off. And yet it still automatically downloads these updates during my usage time and reduces my computer's performance.

How do I turn these automatic downloads off so I can actually use my bleeping computer without interruptions?

Automatic Updates

They are installed automatically if that is the way you have Automatic Updates set.

I have AU set as download them, but let me choose when to install.

Is that what you meant when you said they are installed automatically?


As to your question Lillebror, I searched for a way to start the Automatic Updates, but really wasn't successful.
