  1. How to turn off bit locker for secondary storage drive

I’m not really a computer guy so I hope I use all the right terminology for this and it’s understandable. My brother the other day borrowed my laptop and plugged his drive into it which autoencrypted my main drive along with a secondary storage drive I use to download games on. We managed to get into the computer and unencrypt the main drive by simply turning off device encryption in the settings. It cleared the main drive however the secondary storage is still encrypted. I have the key to it and can still access it but I have to reenter it everytime I boot the computer up if I want access to

    :)

  2. Problem starting computer with Bit Locker turned on

Turned on Bit Locker on wife's desktop and had no problem encrypting the drives. Recently, when starting up computer, computer shows blue screen for entering password to Bit locker and immediately shuts down after entering only a few of the characters.
This will go on 3 or 4 times before it stays on long enough to enter password and computer will then start up normally.

I'm turning off Bit Locker until I can figure out where the problem lies.

Computer is Dell Inspiron 3847 with quad core i5 processor. Using Windows 10 Pro, version 1607. Hard drives are two 2TB Seagate drives and a 4 TB Seagate backup drive. All updates are current.

Any suggestions for clearing this problem will be greatly appreciated.

  3. Having to enter bit locker key everyday

    Hi,

I realize that you are getting the bit locker prompt very often. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to turn off the Bit Locker, restart the pc and then turn on the Bit Locker to check if that helps.

To enable BitLocker, open the Control Panel and navigate to System and Security > BitLocker Drive Encryption. You can also open Windows Explorer or File Explorer, right-click a drive, and select Turn On BitLocker.

Keep us informed to help you further.

  4. How to turn off bit locker for secondary storage drive

Bit locker does not see internal slave drive

    Hello,

I installed bit locker on Windows 10 after upgrading to professional. I do not have a TMP and I setup bit locker to work without. Everything worked without problem. However, bit locker does not see my internal slave hard drive or my external WDD Book. Bit
locker can see my C drive and any USB I plug in, just not those two drives. I am not expert with bit locker so do not assume I setup or changed any config settings. I may have just missed turning a setting on. I have searched for this topic everywhere and
I can not find an article related even remotely.

    Thank you
