Windows 10: How to turn off Cumulative updates.

I am wondering how to turn off cumulative updates and other updates besides security ones on windows 10 home edition. I noticed that my pc was getting too warm for my liking and when I uninstalled some updates, my pc cooled off. I don't like my pc getting to warm because it makes me nervous and it is in my lap a lot of the time. I know all about clearing data and cashe, and not keeping it on my lap, and all the other things that cause a warm pc, but the updates are causing the warm pc. So it seems like I can either turn them off completely or just temporarily. Right now I just have them paused for the next month but Im wondering if I can choose which updates I want and don't want. Can I keep the important security ones only? And if they make the pc to warm, get rid of them too?

Cumulative December update

I tried to download and install the December Cumulative Update from the website you had listed and did not have any luck. I received error messages stating that it would not install and it still has not come through windows update. Do you have any other
suggestions?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
