Windows 10: How to turn off Data Execution Prevention for Internet Explorer Windows 10

I need some help here, I work in an office where we handle multiple EMRs, and unfortunately some of them force us to use Internet Explorer. We are running Windows 10, and I need to turn off DEP for Internet Explorer. The problem is, I cannot add it to the exclusion list as it is 64 bit, I have tried turning off enhanced protection mode, and I have looked in the security tab under internet options, and even though I can see a setting to turn it off there online, I do not have that setting so I believe it is outdated. Has anyone had to do this and can help me out here? I have not been able to find anything that works online yet. Thanks in advance.

Edit: also these are managed with AzureAD/Intune, so if there is a setting that needs to be changed in there, just let me know.

Microsoft Internet Explorer renamed to Windows Internet Explorer ?




Since version 7 of the world`s most popular web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer was silently renamed to Windows Internet Explorer.Such a step from Microsoft is not a surprise since Internet Explorer is part of the Windows operation system for a long time.Obviously Microsoft corp. wants to state that Internet Explorer is already considered as a part of Windows and not as an external browser (remember the IE and WMP law issues last year!?).

 

Data Execution Prevention, wtf is this

control panel > system and maintenance > system > advanced system settings

choose "settings" under "Performance"

choose the Data Execution Prevention tab

choose "turn on DEP for essential windows programs and services only"

to turn OFF DEP bring up the command prompt and type this:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

the entire thing just like that

reboot and it should be off

should be.....

to turn back on, this:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn


and you may want to check the settings in the first step above again once back on. the one where you change settings

also it should be noted that DEP is generally viewed as a critical security component of Windows, and one form or another of it has been present in versions of Windows since Windows has been around. or at least since Windows '98 or w/e

its just never been so....intrusive before :\
