  1. How to turn VT on without going into BIOS/UEFI?

Due to a hardware error (maybe, IDK, but probably a hardware error), I cannot go into BIOS. My laptop will go into a black screen with streaks of white if I restart my device and some unlucky normal boot times. Windows updates are still possible, it's only the display that is broken, I can still input commands like fn+alt+f4 to shut it down.

As going to BIOS/UEFI requires a restart, I encounter the black screen problem every time, forcing me to force power off using the hold power button method, requiring me to wait for a few hours to start my laptop again without encountering the display error.

Sure, maybe I'll see a copy of my device's UEFI screen and then navigate blindly through it but the problem is, whenever I go into the UEFI through the recovery menu in the settings, the screen won't even power up, it's totally black, different from my usual powered-on black screen with streaks of white.

So yeah, I somehow messed up my VT settings when a black screen happened, cuz I'm doing the fn alt f4 to shut down my laptop wherever possible, so maybe I have pressed some random keyboard inputs that messed with the BIOS settings. Is there a way to turn the VT on without going into the BIOS/UEFI?

    My device:

    • Lenovo IdeaPad 330
    • Windows 10
    • Pentium N4200
    • Couple Years Old (2-3 maybe)
    • The issue with the screen was there for like around some months after getting the device, since it's just a device given to us, we didn't bother ranting about the problem.

VT x is not available in BIOS

    Hi,

I am working on Intel Pentium Dual Core T4500, having windows 10 OS. I am trying to run a Windows 7 virtual machine using VMware workstation player 12 but it shows Intel VT-x is disabled in BIOS, but in BIOS I don't see this option
at all. I have searched on intel site that this particular model T4500 doesn't support VT-x. Is there any turn around. If I use Virtualbox will that solve my problem.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks.

VT-x is not available, but is enabled in BIOS

There are three common culprits for the type of error the user is seeing:

    • VT-x is not enabled in the BIOS
    • The CPU doesn't support VT-x
    • Hyper-V virtualization is enabled in Windows

Since the user already eliminated the first two possible culprits, the next step is to open a command prompt as administrator and run the following command:

Afterwards, reboot the PC and try VirtualBox again.
