    How to un-pause Windows Image Acquisition WMI on Windows 10?


    I can't use my printer's scan function, apparently because WMI is paused. I'd like to know how to fix that, since restarting it hasn't worked. I have looked at various other help articles, and none do anything for me. I've tried sfc /scannow, and that did not help. I am willing to edit my registry if given detailed instructions on how to do so.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Image Acquisition, Scanner problems with Windows 10

    Scanner capability not operational on my Canon Imageclass MF5750 printer after installation of Windows 10. I was told by Canon tech support that it was a problem with Windows regarding "Image Acquisition". Any suggestions other than another printer.
